In this 2 hour hands-on workshop, we’ll explore the relationship between Plant + Vessel. How the right pot, a thoughtful prune, and a little shaping can completely change the way a plant grows and lives in your space.
You'll create a hand-formed vessel for your plant - living art that's uniquely yours.
We’ll start with the Plant.
You’ll select your plant from our uniquely curated assortment. Together, we’ll cover the fundamentals of choosing a healthy plant, care basics, and designing a vessel that gives its roots the space they need to flourish. We’ll explore pruning and shaping -not simply as plant maintenance, but as tools for encouraging healthy growth and creating balance, movement, and form.
Then we’ll move from Plant to Clay.
You’ll create your own one-of-a-kind pottery vessel, considering proportion, shape, drainage, and how the vessel will ultimately complement the plant it holds. No pottery experience is needed. Finished vessel will be up to 6" pot.
After the workshop, we’ll finish and fire your vessel. Your plant will be potted in your one-of-a-kind vessel and ready for pick up 2 weeks after the workshop.
What You’ll Learn
You’ll leave with a practical foundation you can use well beyond this workshop: how to select healthy plants, recognize when and how to repot, pair plants with appropriately sized vessels, prune and shape for both health and form, and use basic pottery hand-forming techniques to create a functional plant vessel.
What’s Included
This workshop includes all clay, materials, firing and finishing; a plant and the preparation and potting of your plant after firing. Two weeks later, you’ll pick-up your hand-formed ceramic vessel fully potted with your plant and ready for its new home.
More than anything, this workshop is an invitation to slow down, work with your hands, learn something new, and connect -with plants, materials, and the people around the table.
