The Slate colored stone begins as quarry rock sourced just 1 mile from the Yewo workshop. The Yewo team works to shape the stones until they reach a smooth matte finish that showcases its organic origins.
The Clay stone begins as kiln-fired locally sourced clay found in Southern Malawi. Yewo partners with Dedza Pottery to create a naturally toned stone that highlights the richness of the red African soil.
IMPACT
Each unique piece is sustainably made in a solar-powered workshop and creates full-time employment for the Yewo team in rural Malawi.
